Fake it till you make it, really??

· Faris Mohamed

I’m always intimidated by the act of bluffing blindly. Not against bluffing in general though. Always be genuine to your bluffs otherwise don’t do it.

I believe I’m a realist in my team and I take actions only upon gaining clarity. So I often get blamed for not taking the first step. And to me it’s okay to not put my head in everything around me. But due to extreme peer pressure and a tonne of FOMO I take some first steps and regret later.

It’s not like I’m reluctant to start new things or explore new areas, it’s like I’m already bloated inside and fed-up with the hundreds of things I have kept unfinished. Even an article I’ve bookmarked and never read keeps haunting me sometimes.

So the act of bluffing blindly is often being dishonest to ourselves and we all will be having a sudden adrenaline rush in the moment we set out something new and bluff to the world. But many a times I’ve seen most of the bluffs are just bluffs and there’s no solid plan to achieve it. Bluffs without plans are just lies and most importantly it’s us faking ourselves

The problem with these bluffing is that we’ll find ourselves losing interest or getting the thoughts of dropping them, but since we’ve bragged about it, we force ourselves to pursue that even without any interest and believe me it’s the worst thing we ever do to ourself.

Be honest, don’t bluff blindly, or maybe don’t bluff at all. Be genuine to yourself and to others. These are just my thoughts flowing randomly that might have been suppressed inside for a while, feel free to connect with me at hello@farismohamed.me.
